Never had a brother teach me guitar
Roll me joint, take me for a ride in his car
My grandmother told me, you’re the lucky one

I felt so alone in a world that’s not mine
We’re different people can be so unkind
The shame, wanna hide who I am

Joe played guitar and that’s what set him free
Six strings can define your destiny

Bay City Rollers, Beatles and Kiss
The chords they came easy then even some riffs
Fat Danny played keys,
Spyros on the bass
Joe played guitar and that’s what set him free
Six strings can define your destiny

Those days the time it went slow
So young and innocent fighting
how could we know
Where it would go

Those songs we played over and over again
Keeping them close,
Loving them like they were friends
Who know it would end

We jammed in my basement played Sex Pistols songs
One about the queen and the monarchy gone
It’s hard to be angry, when your mama should cook so good
Leather Mc jacket over a painted denim vest
Talkin’ about Zeppelin or the who being best
Boombox Blasting, Skynard, Freebird
Joe played guitar and that’s what set him free
Six strings can define your destiny

Those days the time it went slow
So young and innocent, fighting
How could we know
Where it would go

Those songs we played over and over again
Keeping them close,
Loving them like they were friends
Who know it would end

Joe played guitar and that’s what set him free
